We are not the onion.

There’s this reputable news site in my country, let’s equate them to the New York Times.

There’s this satire news site in my country, let’s equate them to the Onion.

We live in times where that NYT equivalent dishes out an article over Facebook, and feels the need to add “We are not the onion!” to it.

The first three or four times that had happened, it was funny “Hehe, they need to tell us that this shit ain’t satire, hehe…”.

It is still happening.

At least once a week.

In what perilously insane times have we ended up in, that news outlets (two different news outlets, I must say at this point) feel the need to warn their readers, that the linked to article is in fact NOT satire, but real?!

This isn’t the news outlets fault, they report on the news, they don’t make ‘em, unlike the satire sites. (Although, it must be referenced, that SNL gave fake Palin, for lack of a fake speech, just the real speech that Palin had held, so in essence, satire reported on the news…)

The true fault lies with us, the people. We have allowed the politicians to run amok, we have allowed corporations to dictate policy, we have granted frauds to spread their filth in public, we have permitted disinformation to be presented as fact, and it’s a downhill journey from here on out.

We are not the onion.

That will be the motto of this generation, and our obituary.

Take care,

Eurovision Song Contest

So there’s this article in the news here (clipping at the bottom), telling us that they are planning to have sewer/manhole covers play the winning finalist songs of the past song contests so far.

Don’t get all nuts about this, it’s the same idiotspeople who condense roughly 900 years of history into 18 pages, so take everything they claim with a HUGE grain of salt.

If it was true however, that city council decided or planned to install this kind of entertainment in manhole covers throughout the city, my question is less a question of “why?” (since most people wear earphones or are too distracted to listen to the sewer noises) but a resounding “how?”.

Did they find a stack of old Walkmen (walkmans?) in an attaic in the council house? Are they now in the process of recording songs on tapes, and there will be workers in the sewers turning cassettes all day long and replacing batteries? “Riiiiiissse…..liiiiiiikeee….a”
Or have you “found” a truck load of iPhones and bluetooth loudspeakers, charging the songs on the councils iTunes bill? Who charges the phones? What happens when it rains?
Are they installing giant frak ass speakers in the seweage treatment plants blasting this shite into the sewage pipes? Will I now have to listen to this crap when I take a dump?
Is it “live” and a band is placed down there?

Besides the technology, and the exact “how”, it IS fitting to play this shitty music in the sewer, maybe it even drives out the rats…

At first I pondered whether they found this on a fake news site, but not even those pricks have that much imagination, this is the kind of whack idea that either was conjured up by a “journalist” on a slow, SLOW, SLOOOOOOW day, or that was actually discussed in the city council. (Which only shows you what kind of idiots we’re dealing with here)

It baffles me.
But, I must remind all of us, it is Oesterreich we’re talking about.

Axis of Cartman (Politics pt.1)

Yes, we should take the threat of nuclear war serious, but I can’t take Kim Jong Un serious.

He is a wee bit fat kid with a series of mental complexes. And I can’t help but feel reminded of Eric Cartman when ever I see him. And of course whenever I read what he said, I hear it in Cartman’s voice inside my head.
“Screw you guys, I’m going to nuke! NO! Screw you guys, nuke.”
What I find baffling is the fact that North Korean missiles could reach barely past Japan, making them in sense very very expensive Nuclear Torpedoes.
But not Intercontinental Missiles.

“Look at out new Stealthbomber above that volcano there. Look at it!” yeah, nice Mahmud Ben Cartman. Sadly that picture you gave us is a fake. Not even a good one. You took the picture you took from the thing at the presentation and shopped it to that volcano. So even Iran is going nuts, and although they are surely working on the bomb, I can’t take them serious either.

Whether Iran or North Korea – even if they have the bomb I think all they could do is form a pact to work together, one of the two countries will gather all their soldiers and they then throw the joined mission rocket and bomb over the border to hit either Israel or South Korea.

While I dread a WW3, and the resulting nuclear winter, not so much for myself, but my son, I still can’t help but laugh, or at least chuckle, at these cretins. Sadly they are cretins with a finger poised over the start button, but still cretins.
