Irregular Update 12th November 2015

It’s mid november, and the temperatures are unusually warm here.

Like spring.
Late spring.

But that is not the reason for this post. It’s an update on stuff! With out further talk, here we go!

• Writing. I’m happy to inform you that my new project, which is essentially last year’s NaNoWriMo project, is looking good. It’s progressing, and taking shape. As with Rings of Fate (which will start to go online in January 2016), I have decided to write it in concise episode format (splitting each episode up into 3-4 parts when posting it), so three episodes are already finished.

Can’t wait for it to go online once it’s finished (we’re talking about late 2016, or even much later with this, so don’t hold your breath)

•Advent Calendar. Oh bjoy! Almost there – both timewise and creating it, just missing three entries, and those will be up there soon enough too, and you will be able to regurgitateenjoy!

•Moar X-Mess crap. Starbucks made the red cups. And people are losing their shit over it. Why on earth is this a thing? Are you retarded? You’re behaving like six year olds who want reindeer, snowflakes, trees and santa on it, instead of a civilised, stylish plain red wrap showing the matching green Starbucks logo. Get your shit together, it’s not war against christmas, it’s war against senseless kitsch. Take your reindeer, trees, santas, angles, snowflakes, snowmen and stars and shove it!
Grow up you imbeciles!

That was it for the time being, I hope you have a great Movember, a successful NaNoWriMo and generally a good time, as always,
Take care,
A.

Life ain’t that hard, writing!

If you are like me, you can’t wait for an opportunity to hit the keys and type away, writing stories. Or grabbing a pen or other form of writing utensil.

All the more delighting, NaNoWriMo is coming up! Today!

But there we stumble into the most devastating issue of them all, people who make writing more complicated than it truly is.
So you get “helpful advice” and writing “tips” from people who co-wrote a book on How to Publish stuff, with an astonishing track record of having co-publisbed the book on How to Publish stuff.

Look people, writing ain’t that hard, here:

1. You make a schedule, you end up doing homework. Chores. Nothing with passion. If you have 5 minutes or more, write, ditch the schedule.

2. You make an outline, you will probably deviate so far from your outline, your outline describes another story. Keep it vague, if you do outline.

3. You find a place where you can write, and I assure you, you’ll either write about the magnificence of that place, or not at all because you are distracted by the magnificence of that place. (Stay away from Starbucks, you pretentious halfwitted sacks of wasted skin!)

4. Measuring anything is for dick measuring contests, not for writing. Creating pressure with a creative process is like demanding water to flow upwards (on its own). Unless you are a type-whore writing other people’s ideas, in which case, know that I despise you.

5. You ain’t never written anything longer than a page: do not write a novel. No discouragement intended, but start slow. Essays, Shortstories, and then you can start on the longer stuff.

6. Editorial is done AFTER writing. Don’t get yourself down with that stuff while writing, it can wait. Anyine telling you otherwise, is deliberately sabotaging you.

7. Forget it. Forget all of it. Not your story, or great story idea, but the advice. The aforementioned six points, other people’s “helpful advice”. Forget all of it.
If you have the creative genius inside you, you will write. Pen on paper, stick in clay, on computers of all sizes, in the woods, the bog, in the streets, … doesn’t matter. If you have that spark, you will write. Before, during and after NaNoWriMo, for the occassion, or completely unrelated. You don’t need any of these oh so helpful advises, none of the wisecracking dipshits who co-published a book on how to defecate properly in public.
So, forget it. Unless you don’t have the creativity, in which case I must inquire why you … well. Everyone has dreams.
Go at it.

Take care,
A

Writing update 19th Oct 2015

•I just uploaded a bunch of stuff for the next few updates concerning Whose World.

•I finished editorial for almost all episodes of Rings of Fate, only 6 to go, then new work starts….

•New Work!
Either my good old NaNoWriMo ideas will be revived (or much rather, finally tackled), or it will be a new project (SciFi again: “A.C.”), or another sort of new project (sort of a spin off in the SciFi realm of RoF: “Armageddon”).
I don’t know exactly. I also am toying with the idea of brushing up some old things (Naga, Mr. Zed).
We’ll see…

•NaNoWriMo to be blunt, I can’t tackle that. I’d love to, but I can’t.
I write (and edit) on my way to work, and then on the way back home. There’s just not enough time to write a “novel” in those time slots in just one month. So, yeah, I’m not going to participate in NaNoWriMo. Definitely not. But I wish you all the best, and the muses kisses for your NaNoWriMo endeavours.

As usual, take care,
A.

Update 30th Nov 2014

I hope you folks had a great November.

Especially a very productive NaNoWriMo. 😉
Or a comfortable Movember.

Tomorrow starts the Christmas calendar. I trust you are looking forward to it.
During the coming season of schmalz  I will continue work on RoF and Mnarah, if the opportunity for the later arises.

With all that, I wish you very happy stsrt of December, and again I hope you a wonderfully comfortable, productive NaNoWriMovember….

Writing update 11.11.2014

Okay, here we go again.

•NaNoWriMo …  ish
Since I started early (on 27th Oct.), I’m not really participating. As mentioned before. But I am working on a bigger thing: Shadows of Mnarah. As mentioned before.
I have reached a point in the story that made me think of my fellow writer out there. Especially those participating in NaNoWriMo.
If you come to the same point as I have now, the point of utter doubt, relax.

Sit comfortably and think of the following things – “Deathbed, the bed that eats”, “Galaxy Invaders” – okay? Those are the weirdest, shittiest things I have ever seen.
Not just because of terrible effects, bad acting and so on. No. The story behind it, the story told – the brain comes to scrinching halt and needs to breathe.
Still.
The story got told. Someone wrote it, someone else read it. The reader thought it was so good it needed to be made into a film. Actors and staffs were hired, got the script and NO ONE brought the project to fall. They all went with it, and the films got made.
So, no matter how shitty you think your story is – there is always a chance. There is always hope.
Besides, your story is not that shitty. 😉

•Rings of Fate
Well…I have made a terrible mistake. I need to fire up an intro of sorts. After I finished the current episode of course. Yes, I took the brooding and urging ideas and let them out during my crisis of confidence in Mnarah, and let that out before my brain bursts out of my nose and ears…

Take care, and keep up the good work writers!

Writing Updates!

Well Hello there, to this irregular post!

•Rings of Fate
I have finished three generations of travelers, and began “Season 4” (a.k.a. Generation 4) with 4 episodes. I am planning a few more, but the plans for that need to be finalised before I can start writing them. If they fail, Generation 4 will end with 4 episodes. (But the plans for Episode 35 are taking shape. Perhaps that’ll be the end of it. Perhaps not.)
Before I begin publishing the episodes here I need to go over them with a finetooth comb. It is bad enough I keep serving you my Whose World stories in the entirely raw format. No closing of plotholes, no correction of bad grammar and typos.
I’M SORRY!

•NaNoWriMo
Originally I planned to write “Ssadows of Elaria” for NaNoWriMo, but since I was fresh out of fleshed out ideas for RoF at the 27th of October, I began writing “Shadows of Mnarah” at that date. Since I didn’t want to ditch that stuff at the 1st, and either start over or start something new in the middle of an exodus, I have decided to not participate in NaNoWriMo.
Again.
Last year I missed it, this years I decided against it. Bummer. (And also “Stupid me! Always getting in my way!”)

•Shadows of Mnarah
We are following SciFi (Rings of Fate) with some Fantasy. Yay.
Or rather, I’m jumping the centuries.
I am quite displeased with the beginning. Storywise it’s fine, but style wise it is a bit … bumpy.

•Whose World
I’m continuing posting WW story parts. As raw as they are. Again, I’m sorry for that.

Cuddlers and NaNoWriMo

Emma, Otto Ferdinand, Pingu, Odin, Athene, Fritz and Teddy.

Hope I find the time to write their stories 😉

Originally I intended to participate in NaNoWriMo, but opportunities allowed for me to either start on 27. Oct, or go nuts. I did both, so I gotta skip on NaNoWriMo. Again. 😥

But there’s a bright side to that: I’m writing!
